Google (including YouTube), Facebook, Instagram (now Meta), ShareChat, Snap, Twitter and WhatsApp have released their reports under Rule 4(1)(d) of the IT Rules 2021 for the month of Dec ‘21. The latest of these was published by Meta and was made available in late Jan ‘22. We’ve analysed them.

NIXI’s justification for 2 domains per person? National Security

In December 2021, NIXI published an undated notice stating that if any entity wants to register for more than two [dot]in domains, they’ll have to seek written permission from the NIXI CEO. In our RTI request, NIXI responded stating that the notice was issued for “national security”.
