IFF submitted its counter comments to TRAI’s consultation paper which sought to regulate Content Delivery Networks (CDNs). We have responded to comments made by service providers and industry bodies.
IFF responded to TRAI’s consultation paper which sought the establishment of Data Centres, Content Delivery Networks, and Interconnect Exchanges. We submitted our comments as obvious issues of innovation that serve users, net neutrality and data protection emerge for consideration.
We wrote to the Minister for Telecommunications, Ashwini Vaishnaw to highlight the lack of implementation of TRAI’s recommendations regarding the enforcement of net neutrality principles by ISPs, which included establishing an independent Multi Stakeholder Body by the DoT.
The Standing Committee on Home Affairs recently reiterated its stance that VPNs be permanently blocked. We wrote to the MHA, highlighting why VPNs are important and asking for the committee’s proposal to be put through a public consultation.
We were alarmed by a recent report that the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) is citing fiscal constraints in establishing a Multi Stakeholder Body (MSB). We wrote to the DoT, pressing for transparency and enforcement of net neutrality.
